Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has said his team will continue to improve despite their emphatic win over the Black Queens of Ghana in a friendly game played in the city of Casablanca.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Madugu said the match enabled the technical team to test the strength of the team as it brought the full squad together.
In her words: “the match gave us the opportunity of “This match helped us bring the full squad together. We could see how well the team is working and test different combinations,” Madugu said.
“It will always be work in progress but we are very focused on our clear goal of Mission X. The players are hungry for success, and team spirit is high. We can’t wait for our first match against Tunisia on Sunday.”
“We will keep working on our weak areas. I believe that by our first match, we will be ready,” Madugu further added.
Chinwendu Ihezuo, Asisat Oshoala, and captain Rasheedat Ajibade all scored to show Nigeria’s strength in the closed-door game played at Ziaida Palace Benslimane field.
Madugu has enjoyed great success with the Super Falcons. He led the team past Ethiopia in the Olympic qualifiers, crushed Cape Verde to book a place at the Women’s AFCON, and oversaw wins against Algeria and Cameroon in friendlies. Last year, his team even kept France to a narrow win in Paris.
Earlier this month, the Falcons also held Portugal to a 0-0 draw in Lisbon.
