President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will serve as chairman and vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 presidential election, according to the list released by the party on Saturday.
The party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as another vice chairman, while former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has been appointed Director-General of the campaign council.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State will serve as Secretary of the council, while the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman will serve as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.
The campaign council chairman, President Tinubu, will be supported by an advisory body comprising Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni have been appointed Deputy Directors-General for the campaign in the southern and northern parts of the country.
They will work with Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Senator Jibril Barau in the two zones.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole will serve as Deputy Director-General in charge of mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff will oversee administration as Deputy Director-General.
James Abiodun Faleke, who played a key role in the 2022/2023 presidential campaign, has also returned as Deputy Director-General in charge of election planning, coordination and monitoring.
Faleke will work with zonal directors comprising Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.
Ms Stella Okotete, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori have been appointed secretaries of the Election Planning Directorate.
Legal, Media Directorates
Muiz Adeyemi Banire will head the Legal Directorate as Director, with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala serving as deputies.
Other members of the legal team are Prince Lateef Fagbemi, former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, will serve as Coordinating Director for Media and Strategic Communication.
He will work alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu in coordinating the media and strategic communication structure.
Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka have been appointed Coordinating Deputy Directors in the media directorate.
Abdulaziz AbdulAziz will serve as one of the coordinating secretaries of the directorate alongside Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke and Frederick Nwabufor.
Segun Dada will return as Director of New Media, the same position he held during the 2022/2023 campaign, while Solomon Arowolo will serve as Secretary of the New Media Directorate.
The campaign council has also appointed five spokespersons, with Dele Alake as the lead spokesperson. Others are Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.
Tinubu Charges Council on Victory
President Tinubu charged members of the campaign council to work tirelessly towards securing victory for the APC in the January 2027 elections.
He also urged leaders of the various directorates to reach out to other party members who may not have been formally listed in the council but could contribute to the campaign effort.
The President said the APC would campaign on the achievements of his administration, particularly the economic reforms, while urging members to project confidence and inspire Nigerians.
“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress. We are definitely out of the dark tunnel and are now at the cusp of reaping the benefits of a prosperous economy that will benefit all Nigerians.”
Tinubu further urged the campaign team to highlight the administration’s achievements as the election season approaches.
“As we march into the campaign season, we have many achievements to trumpet—let us confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation.”
He also charged the campaign council to defeat opposition forces seeking to replace the APC administration.
“Let us soundly defeat all those forces who plan to take our country backwards.”
