DEBO ADEOYE, IBADAN

The newly sworn in pioneer Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Staff Pension Board, MR. BAYO TITILOLA-SODO has advised all pensioners in Oyo State to give priority to their health.

Speaking on Tuesday after he was sworn in by the state governor, ENGINEER SEYI MAKINDE at the government house Agodi, Ibadan, the new PS expressed gratitude to the governor and everyone that rallied support for him.

“I’m full of appreciation, first to the people’s governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the believe and trust he has in me and I promise to keep offering my best to this administration and ensuring we record unprecedented successes.

“Let me also thank my constituencies; the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), the Local Government Service Commission, the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Unions Congress and of course the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists for the supports accorded me over the years.

Responding to the questions on how his appointment will affect positively lives of pensioners in the state. He promised to ensure the health of all pensioners continue to improve under MAKINDE’S administration.

“As we all know and believe, “Ìlera l’oògún orò” (health is wealth), my advice to every pensioner is to give priority to health, put their health first. It’s when they’re alive that they can enjoy the reward of their contributions to the service of our dear State in their active days, especially now that we have governor who has prioritised prompt payment of active workers’ salaries as well as gratuities and pensions of our senior citizens.

“I also want to add this, the present administration in Oyo State will continue to take serious the wellbeing of all pensioners through provision of medical examination and treatment and also encourage our retirees to have interest and invest in agriculture,” TITILOLA-SODO added.
