The relegation threatened LAFIA based Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Nasarawa United FC has continued its new found home form in the ongoing NPFL season as they beat Enyimba FC of Aba 2-0 at the Lafia Township stadium on Sunday.
Despite the 2-0 win against Enyimba, the SOLID MINERS are still standing at 19th position deep at the relegation zone with 18 games to the end of the season.
In her last three home games; NUFC defeated Abia Warriors 3-1, piped Jigawa Golden Stars 1-0 and Enyimba FC 2-0, all matches in the month of February to lift her points to 22 with an outstanding match to be played on Wednesday against Enugu Rangers.
A win against Enugu Rangers will catapult NUFC to 16th or 15th positions on the log depending on the number of goals but a lost in that game will condemn them to the same position, while a draw will lift them a step up (18th) position.
However, NASARAWA UTD got their two goals from each half of the 90 minutes encounter on Sunday against the reigning champions of the NPFL and a two time CAF champions league winners.
From their current displaying, however, Nasarawa Utd looks like a team that is gearing towards escaping the relegation murky waters at the end of the season, but, that also will depends on the level of unity displaying among the management, technical crew, the players and the supporters club.
Amongst the clubs at the relegation zone; Abia Warriors or Nasarawa Utd could escape the murky waters of the relegation, but for NUFC that must start on Wednesday, a win against Enugu Rangers would be better for them.
