Core Afrique Boxing Promotion has concluded plans ahead of the World Boxing Federation, WBF, World Super featherweight title defense fight between the title holder, Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola of Nigeria and Kelvin Escanez of France.
The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Core Afrique Promotion, Mr Sola Ayodele in an exclusive interview with www.sunrisetimes.com.ng said the bout formally scheduled for 30th of May has been shifted to June 19th due to Ramadan fast adding that Oyekola would not lack any support to retain the Super featherweight title against his French opponent in Ibadan.
“We are fully prepared by the grace of God, God backing us, we have put everything in place for the bout, my boy Riwane is training hard and very soon he will be going for an international training tour in order to have a full and better preparation. Rilwane is doing well as far as training is concern, both physically and spiritually we are backing him up, mentally is good and morally is fine.
According to Ayodele, despite the boosting of Oyekola’s opponent Kelvin Esconez, nothing to be worried about.
“ I must tell you, honestly speaking there is no cause for alarm, we are giving Nigerians great assurance and rest of mind that Oyekola is retaining the belt, for the past 2 months now Escanez has been blabbing that nothing would stop him not to take away the belt from the WBF Super feather weight reigning champion, Oyekola to France.
“Our response to Escanez was that whatever the training he had In France should be brought down to Ibadan, Nigeria, and we will be waiting for him but I want to assure Nigerians, Africa and World at large that we are fully prepare for the match which might be considered as the match of the year in WBF’s calendar”.
Ayodele further hinted that Oyo state number citizen, Governor Seyi Makinde is aware of the international fight and he is giving the necessary support for the success of the bout.
” Our governor is putting everything in place and the preparation is in top gear now which means Nigerians and world at large would experience a colorful outing come June 9th”, He said.
