President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the sum of N683billion as the 2024 Intervention Funds for public tertiary education institutions in the country. This according to a post on X formerly twitter by the Special Adviser to the president of Social development, Dada Olusegun.
The post said:
— Public Universities – 1.9bn each
—Public Polytechnics – 1.1bn each
—Public Colleges of Education 1.3bn each
It is important to note that this year’s intervention is significantly higher than 2023’s own which was capped at N320 billion.
The Special adviser also reminded Nigerians that the much awaited students loan initiative is expected to kick off later this month.
