Young table tennis talents from across Africa are gearing up for the 2024 ITTF Africa Youth Championships, set to take place in Gaborone, Botswana.
From Monday, July 15 to Sunday, July 21, the city will host the continent’s most promising players.

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) ensures that athletes, officials, and spectators will enjoy a comfortable and memorable experience during the championships.
With a strong track record of successfully hosting international sports events, Gaborone has previously organized regional and continental tournaments. Its expertise in handling large-scale competitions makes it a reliable and capable choice for hosting the Africa Youth Championships.

Motswagole Kudzanani, President of the Botswana Table Tennis Association (BTTA), emphasizes that staging the tournament will lead to all-round improvement for table tennis. “Hosting provides a platform to build our capacity and expose our athletes to international standards,” he explains. “It also increases our brand visibility, showcasing our capabilities and helping us identify areas for growth.”
