More support is coming the way of the Pan Africa Scrabble Association (PANASA) ahead of the it’s twin-tournaments holding next week as scrabble equipment maker SamTimer has offered the famous wood Scrabble board and other playing items to the organiser.
Both the President’s Cup which was designed for elite players and the PANASA/Winifred Awosika Foundation African Youth Scrabble Championship for U-15 and U-19 have continued to elicit excitement as their popularity spread across boundaries.
Sam Kantimathi who manufactures the quality Scrabble boards, clocks amongst other scrabble playing equipment said the need to give his support to the innovative efforts of the continental body was inspired by the awareness and goodwill the game has gained in the past months.
The American has further promised to attend the Scrabble showpiece which would be the biggest gathering of ‘Jammers’ in Africa.
PANASA will present the board to the best placed visiting player after the Round of 25 games.
Players from 14 countries including the United States of America would converge on the Nigerian commercial city of Lagos for the tournaments which will be held from August 24-28 this year.
