Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Mr. Samuel Ocheho has again congratulated Farouk Yusuf after his Polish club KS Vive Kielce won their 18th Polish League title on Wednesday.
Yusuf was involved as Vive Kielce defeated SPL SPAL Mielec 33-24 to win their second trophy in four days after they won the Polish Cup on Sunday.
Ocheho in his congratulatory message to the former Lagos Seasiders player, said Yusuf has shown consistency and maturity added to his skill to be an important member of a Vive side coached by legend Talant Dujshebaev.
For Ocheho, the success of Yusuf, who won two titles in four days validate the efforts of the Handball Federation of Nigeria in ensuring the development and discovery of players from the grassroots.
“I am beyond elated for Yusuf. Winning two titles in days is no mean feat”. Ocheho said.
“He has consistently shown that he is matured enough and also exhibits the right character to be involved in a Vive Kielce side coached by a legend Talant Dujshebaev and it has paid off.
For us at HFN, this feat has validated our work in ensuring that we develop the game in the grassroots. As I said the other day, this feat is a momentum to continue to churn out programmes which help in discovery of players who will make Nigeria proud” Ocheho said.
KS Vive Kielce had comfortably put aside Grupa Azoty SPR Tarnow with a resounding 42-20 victory to win their 17th Polish Cup title days ago and they have now won their 18th Polish SuperLiga (league title).
