Ikorodu City Fc suffered yet another home defeat to Nasarawa United of Lafia at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos on Saturday, the home team lost the match day four NIGERIAN PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE encounter by 2-1.
The encounter was seen by many as an opportunity for Ikorudu city to redeem their image after losing to defending champions in a rescheduled week 2 encounter played at same venue on Wednesday.
The deadlock was broken in the 45th minute by Yusuf Anas for Nasarawa United with an incredible strike beating the goal keeper at close range.
Ikorodu City FC equalizer came just three minutes after from a beautiful header by Thankgod Chilaka.
However, after several attempts by the home team to complete a comeback, it was Nasarawa united that had the final say in the 65th minute as Balogun Kabiru scored the winning goal from a freekick. The match ended 2-1 in favor of Nasarawa United.
In other centers in the Nigerian Professional Football League: Akwa United lost at home (1-2) to Sunshine Stars, Rivers Utd (2-1) Enyimba, El-Kanemi Warriors (2-2) Plateau Utd, Bayelsa Utd (1-1) Kwara Utd, Niger Tornadoes (1-1) Bendel, Katsina Utd (3-0) Lobi Stars, giant killers Remo Stars defeated defending champions Enugu Rangers 2-1 while Shooting Stars of Ibadan played out (1-1) with Heartland of Owerri.
