Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has declared open the 39th Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship open in Abuja, Nigeria, on April 3, 2025.
The ceremony, held at the Moshood Abiola International stadium Sport Indoor Hall, showcased the richness of African culture, with music, dance, and art performances that moved fans to tears.
The championship featuring 16 clubs from 10 African countries would be highlighting Africa’s unity and the growth of volleyball.
Senator Tinubu, a strong advocate for women’s empowerment and sports development, was joined by top dignitaries, including CAVB President Bouchra Hajij and the Controller General of Nigeria Customs Service.
Nigeria is hosting the tournament for the second time , the country last hosted it in 1996 .
