The Nigerian Army has airlifted 344 military personnel into and out of the North-East Theatre of Operation HADIN KAI under the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Welfare Flight Programme, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance troop welfare and operational efficiency.
The welfare flight, conducted on July 16, utilised a chartered ValueJet aircraft to facilitate the movement of personnel deployed in the counter-insurgency theatre.
The initiative is designed to ease troop rotations and improve the wellbeing of officers and soldiers serving in the North-East.
Military authorities disclosed that 170 personnel were airlifted into the Operation HADIN KAI theatre, while 174 personnel were transported out of the theatre during the operation.
The Army said the movement was completed without incident, with all personnel arriving safely at their designated destinations.
The operation forms part of a broader welfare strategy aimed at supporting troops engaged in ongoing security operations.
According to the Army, the latest exercise has increased the total number of personnel moved under the COAS Welfare Flight Programme to 34,114 since its inception.
The programme provides safe and efficient transportation for military personnel deployed in frontline operations.
“The COAS Welfare Flight initiative remains one of the Nigerian Army’s key welfare programmes designed to support troop morale by providing safe and efficient transportation for personnel deployed in counter-insurgency operations across the North-East,” the Army said.
