Dr. Martins Onyilokwu Odeh, Head of Corporate Communications at the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), has been elected Chairman of the Ai’Agboko Community Development Association (ACDA), Abuja Branch, with a promise to reposition the association to drive grassroots development across the Ai’Agboko Clan in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the association’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ogah Akatu.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Odeh said his administration would prioritise initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of people in the 11 villages that make up the Ai’Agboko Clan, noting that many communities still lack access to basic social amenities.
He identified communities including Upu, Edikwu, Asa I, II and III, Akpegede, Ogome, Ebologba, Ojantele, Ikobi, Otobi, Obagaya and parts of Otukpo township as facing serious deficits in potable water, healthcare facilities, road infrastructure and decent shelter.
According to him, the association will mobilise development partners, philanthropists, political leaders and other stakeholders to complement government efforts in addressing the developmental challenges confronting the communities.
Dr. Odeh expressed appreciation to members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to lead the association with integrity, fairness, transparency and inclusiveness.
He called on members to remain united and actively participate in advancing the objectives of the association.
“No chairman can achieve meaningful progress alone. Success requires the commitment, ideas, resources and active participation of every member. Let us set aside personal differences, embrace unity and work together for the common good,” he said.
The NEPZA spokesman also paid tribute to the founding members and past executives of the association for laying a solid foundation for its growth and development.
He assured members that his administration would operate an open-door policy, encouraging constructive engagement and innovative ideas that would promote the progress of the association and the overall development of the Ai’Agboko communities.
Other elected executive members are Engr. Owoicho Ammo as Vice Chairman, Ina Ali as Speaker, Emiene Odeh as Chairlady, Ajumi Okidu as Vice-Chairlady, Ogamenyi Ikongbeh as Treasurer, Ugbodu Adakole as Financial Secretary, Emmanuel Odeje as Secretary, Isaac Adakole as Assistant Secretary, and Ogah Akatu as Chief Whip/Public Relations Officer.
