…Says team will be foundation of Next Generation of Athletes
… Team FCT finished 7th with total of 36 Medals,10 gold,9silver and 17 bronze medal.
The Permanent Secretary of Federal Capital Territory, Olusade Adesola says he was marvelled at the performances of the contingent of the Team FCT to the just concluded National Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara state.
Olusade, who told sports journalists that he has been monitoring the performances of the team since they left Abuja for Ilorin and he is quite elated with the general performance of the team at the closing of the games which he described as a signpost for future dominance of FCT in some sports.
In his words: “I am really happy over the performance of the team despite not having the best of preparations that I would have wanted”
“For them to have achieved this feat , it shows that there is abundant talents in FCT that are waiting to be tapped and with more incentives the sky will be our limit”
Heaping praises on the gymnastics team that won 11 medals at the games, Olusade said “I am short of words to describe their performance which signpost future dominance for FCT in this discipline and if we are able to keep this team together then at the next national sports festival we can have a clean sweep in gymnastic”
Team FCT won a total of 36 Medals; 10 gold,9 silver and 17 bronze medal to finish 7th position at the games.
