The Media consultant to Asiwaju Rotimi Ajanaku, Mr. Debo Adeoyehas clarified issues on the statement made on behalf of Ajanaku regarding an award given to Moahz Oil and Gas.

In a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday in Ibadan, Adeoye, said he acted based on initial remarks made by  Ajanaku while introducing Engr. Abdulqadir Ojo, the Chief Executive of Moahz Oil and Gas to him late last year.

The statement said: “My attention has been brought to the ongoing media war and threats of litigation between Asiwaju Rotimi Ajanaku, the Chairman of Dux Oil, whom I work for as a media consultant and Engineer Abdulqadir Ojo, the Chief Executive of Moahz Oil and Gas, who was introduced to me by Asiwaju Ajanaku, on the statement of commendation I issued on behalf of Ajanaku in respect of the award given Engr. Ojo

“My first day of meeting Engr. Ojo was Sunday 6th September, 2020 during a mini dedication programme organized by Asiwaju to officially dedicate his newly completed gas plant at Egbeda, which was constructed by Moahz Oil and Gas Limited. He introduced Ojo as a friend, good person and Engineer who constructed and installed his Oil and Gas Plant at Egbeda (the going was good and perfect between them then). We chatted for some minutes and he promised to send some useful information on the plant commissioned to me.

“The second time, I came in contact with Engr. Ojo, though it was through telephone was in April 2021 when Asiwaju called to seek my service for Engr. Ojo, he asked me to assist in projecting the business of Engr Ojo. Shortly after the introduction, Engr. Ojo called and asked me to make a press release on the award presented him by the Institute of Oil and Gas Research and Hydrocarbon Studies. I did the release (I used a paragraph to applaud Ojo on behalf of Asiwaju, at the time of writing the release, I was not aware of any misunderstanding between them, hence I carried out my responsibility as a spokesman) and forwarded it to Engr. Ojo for approval. He gave go-ahead without raising eyebrows and subsequently paid for it to be published in the Newspapers, online media and aired on radio, which I did.

“Let me clearly say this again, I did the release in question when the going was perfect between Asiwaju Rotimi Ajanaku and Engr. Abdulqadir Ojo, I never envisaged there could be any issue between the duo. Besides, I have been acting, speaking and writing for Asiwaju Ajanaku over the years, he has never debunked my action for I never misrepresented him and he never asked me to write against anyone, not even his political opponents. This came as a shock to me, however, I hereby, as demanded, tender my unreserved apology to Asiwaju Rotimi Ajanaku and also state here that any embarrassment the story might have caused his person and business is highly regretted,’ Adeoye apologized.
