The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded the new logo of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, on its official website following a court order directing the commission to recognise the party’s modified logo and colour design.
The commission also updated the leadership of the political party on its website, listing Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe as the National Chairman and Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu as the National Secretary.
John Odey is listed as the National Treasurer, while Mainasara Abubakar Sani is the National Financial Secretary. Reuben Egwuaba is also listed as the party’s National Legal Adviser.
INEC indicated that the five leadership positions were updated “by court order,” signalling that the changes were made in compliance with the directive of the Federal High Court.
The development followed a judgment delivered by Justice J. O. Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja in a suit filed by the NDC against INEC.
The suit, numbered FHC/ABJ/CS/1814/2026, centred on the party’s demand for official recognition of its modified logo and colour design.
The NDC had approached the court after INEC allegedly refused to recognise and upload the logo adopted by the party following its first National Executive Committee meeting.
Delivering judgment on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Justice Abdulmalik ruled in favour of the NDC.
The court held that INEC’s refusal to recognise the modified logo was unconstitutional and illegal.
The judge further ruled that the commission’s refusal amounted to an infringement of the rights of the political party, paving the way for the updated logo and leadership details to be reflected on INEC’s official platform.
