…Eulogizes the NCF for doing a great job

Nigerian International, SEYI OLYMPIO stated that he felt relieved that cricket was among the non-contact sports considered to start it business in the country.
OLYMPIO who made this sign of relieved in an exclusive interview with www.sunrisetimes.com.ng said since the game has her limitation and they have the way it can be resolved based on the instruction given by the World Health Organization (WHO) on how people can create a social distance.
The Yellow-Green all-rounder expressed that everything is coming back to normalcy adding that the Club Cricket Committee (CCC), league organizer would soon announce the resumption of the league and with the new development in the country , necessary things are to be put in place.
“It’s a good relieved that cricket is one of the sports considered to commence it activities based on the WHO instruction on how to create social distance adding that it is lovely that everybody is getting back to string of things but not only into football or cricket, hopefully we start our league very soon.
“CCC season league is about to commence, all club will be preparing for Pre-season and all and with the new development in the country, a whole lot of things need to be put in place, I am really excited that we will start playing again”.
OLYMPIO, one time captain of the Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club of Lagos hinted that Nigerian cricket has grown to the level where people see the nation representing Africa at the World level of the International Cricket Council, ICC, under 19 World Cup which was a plus to the country’s development of the game.
“Nigerian cricket has got to the platform where other nations would see the Yellow-Green representing Africa at the junior World cup, is a great achievement which I believe we are not going to dwell on but to work harder for the senior team to get to that level where the Nigeria senior team will rub shoulders with the test nations of the world”.
OLYMPIO eulogized the Nigeria Cricket Federation, NCF, for renovations and the constructions of wicket- turfs in the country pointing out that CCC and National leagues would be played on sophisticated surface which cricket is being played on.
“I must commend the current Nigeria Cricket Federation, NCF , board, they are doing so much, the recent development of University of Lagos cricket pitch and Tafawa Balewa Cricket oval which means that we are going to be playing on more sophisticated surface which we know that cricket is being played on. We have been playing on Astroturf before and with the development I am seeing now, I am shocked to see turf-wicket to be in place” OLYMPIO said.
