Ekiti State Government has promoted 4,466 workers of Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission (Tescom) that were due for promotion in 2018 and 2019.
The Chairman TESCOM HON BABATUNDE ABEGUNDE made this known while fielding questions from journalists in Ado Ekiti on Monday.
According to the Chairman, the promotion exercise cut across all the cadres in the Teaching Service, including teaching and non-teaching officers.
The TESCOM boss described the promotion exercise as a welcome development and part of the restoration efforts of DR KAYODE FAYEMI’S administration, noting that it brought joy to the beneficiaries who described it as a boost to their economic capabilities.
ABEGUNDE said GOVERNOR FAYEMI has given value and reward for honest and diligent service with the promotion of workers while the Permanent Secretary TESCOM, MR. OLUSESAN ALABI counselled the elated staff that they should reciprocate government’s kind gesture through hard work, commitment and loyalty.
He confirmed that the present administration was no longer owing any member of staff any promotion to date, which has proven that DR FAYEMI was indeed a worker-friendly Governor.
In his response, one of the promoted officers, MR AYODEJI ATTA, Chief Master 1, lauded the FAYEMI administration for fulfilling his promise, expressing the hope that other agenda on ground would soon be accomplished as well.
