Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari has died in London according to a statement by his family. He was aged 82.
A statement from his spokesperson Garba Shehu from his verified X handle @GarShehu said:
INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHIRRAJIUUN.
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.
May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.
President Buhari served the country with dedication—first as a military leader, and later as a two-term civilian president. His legacy will be remembered by many for years to come.
Meanwhile the former President will be buried in Daura on Monday according to the latest updates from his family.
