Football scouting in Nigeria will begin to experience another level of expertise and innovation with the entrance of V Agency sports management into the Nigerian league, according to the Chairman of the Nigerian Premier Football League, NPFL, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye.
Speaking at the Football and Education integration in Nigeria Summit 2025 held in Abuja on Tuesday 11th, 2025 , Hon. Elegbeleye said that technology is playing an important role in modern football scouting as it concerns discovery of budding talents.
In his words: “Advanced technology has been very pivotal in revolutionizing scouting processes with the Nigeria Premier Football League ( NPFL). We are honoured to collaborate with V Agency, a distinguished Hungarian company renowned for its expertise in advanced scouting methodologies,” Hon. Elegbeleye said.
“In the dynamic world of football, staying ahead requires innovation and adaptability. Integrating advanced technology into our scouting operations offers several key advantages,” he added.
Enumerating the benefits of data analysis and machine learning in football scouting, Elegbeleye emphasized the need for scouts to embrace modern scouting methodologies and data sets analysis for talent discovery.
“By leveraging data analytics and machine learning, our scouts can analyze datasets to uncover emerging talents that traditional methods might over look.
“This approach ensures a comprehensive evaluation of potential players across the nation. This is called enhanced talent identification in football scouting,” he said
Also speaking at the one-day summit, resource person and CeO of V Agency, Alexandra Vegh, said her organization is leveraging on technology to make football education more accessible and effective .
According to Alexandra the Football and Education Integration in Nigeria Summit 2025 powered by her sports management whose mission is to bridge the gap between talents and opportunities citing the abundance of talented footballers in Nigeria.

Lending a voice at the summit, Nigeria football federation NFF , President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau posited that the deployment of technology is becoming indispensable in the dynamic world of football.
Gusau urged the participants obtain the prerequisite knowledge in scouting football talents that abounds in Nigeria.
In his words: “In today’s rapidly evolving sports landscape, the fusion of technology and traditional scouting methods have become indispensable,” Gusau said in his opening speech.
“V Agency’s focus on advanced scouting software, video editing techniques, artificial intelligence, and analytics courses represents a forward – thinking approach that aligns perfectly with our vision for Nigerian football.
“By embracing these innovations, we not only enhance our scouting capabilities but also provide our young talents with the educational tools necessary to excel both on and off the pitch.
“This holistic development is crucial for nurturing well – rounded players who can compete at the highest levels,” he added.
Speaking further, he charged the participants who were mostly Nigerian coaches from football academies and grassroot clubs, to be teachable and gain knowledge that will make them compete and become certified football scouting experts and representatives to European clubs in Nigeria.
The one day summit had in attendance coaches from various Nigerian football academies and grassroot clubs.
