The HON. MINISTER OF YOUTH AND SPORTS DEVELOPMENT, MR SUNDAY DARE has made a commitment to chart a new direction concerning football and building businesses around it. This he said will make the NIGERIA FOOTBALL FEDERATION NFF more vibrant and result oriented.
MR DARE confirmed that reviving sports will boost youth empowerment.
The Minister made this assertion during his maiden meeting with Board Members of the NIGERIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION (NFF) in Abuja.
The Minister enjoined the NFF to synergize with the Ministry to change the narratives, so as to develop a better perception concerning the federation as football can grow other sports.
He once again assured of government’s determination to develop sporting facilities across the country, and to upgrade at least four pitches into FIFA standard football pitches that the country can boast of between now and January 2020..
Following extensive deliberations, the meeting resolved that there should be a commitment TO CHART A NEW DIRECTION, REPOSITION DOMESTIC LEAGUE, REPOSITION YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IN SPORTS, TO WORK WITH THE MINISTRY TOWARDS EARLY PREPARATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN TOURNAMENTS AND CHAMPIONSHIP, TO REACH OUT TO ALL FACTIONS WITH A VIEW TO HAVING AN AMICABLE RESOLUTION OF ALL PROBLEMS,
TO MAKE SURE THAT WE DEVELOP OUR SPORTING FACILITIES PARTICULARLY FOOTBALL PITCHES AND OTHER STADIA INFRASTRUCTURE among others.
The meeting which was at the instance of the Hon. Minister to interface with the football administrators was attended by all fifteen ( 15 ) Board Members of the NFF and top directors in the MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS DEVELOPMENT.
