Matchday 17 of the Premier League delivered key moments day of football, showcasing thrilling victories, dramatic moments, and decisive performances across various venues. Here’s a round up of the key games played on Saturday;
Aston Villa 2-1 Manchester City
Aston Villa delivered an outstanding performance with a crucial 2-1 win over Manchester City at Villa Park.
Goals from Jhon Duran and Morgan Rogers ensured victory for the host with Phil Foden pulling one back for City for a consolation.
This defeat is Manchester City’s ninth loss in twelve games across all competitions and the citizens currently sit sixth position on the log.
Nottingham Forest won away to Brentford with a 2- 0 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium with Nigeria’s Ola Aina and Anthony Elanga on the scorers sheet , the victory pushes Forest to fourth position in the league standings.
In other venues Newcastle United produced a Masterclass victory away from home with Alexander Isak’s hattrick performance leading to a 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town.
The game between West Ham United and Brighton ended 1-1 with Mohammed Kudus second half header rescued a point for West Ham after Brighton had taken the lead earlier.
The day concluded with Crystal Palace hosting Arsenal at the Selhust park, Gabriel Jesus got a brace to increase his goal tally to five goals in two games.
Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice all got a goal each to end the encounter 1-5 in Arsenal’s favour.
