…Sunday Dare calls for calm
Miscreants, touts and hoodlums on Sunday disrupted a meeting between the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, SUNDAY DARE and the SOUN of OGBOMOSHO, OBA OLADUNNI OYEWUMI, Traditional council and OGBOMOSO PARAPO.
The meeting was disrupted when the hoodlums attacked the SOUN’S palace in the ancient city throwing stones and other objects into the palace before they forcefully gained entrance.
According to a report, security operatives attached to the Minister rescued, the Monarch, his wife, chiefs, journalists and others who were at the meeting .
The miscreants who brought in a dead body to the palace demanded that the monarch should come out which is a taboo according to one of the palace assistants.
The Minister who was with only few security operatives ordered his security operatives not to shoot nor bring out their gun as it will only escalate things.
The report however said the Police Area Commander provided external security that dispersed the hoodlums who had already vandalised, looted the ancient palace and damaged several vehicles with tear gas.
Multiple sources said the intervention of the sports Minister de-escalated the Ogbomosho #ENDSARS Protests situation.
Mr Sunday Dare was also reported to have paid the medical bills of most of the injured victims receiving treatment in the hospital while promising to ensure peace returns to OGBOMOSHOLAND .
Recall that earlier the Sports Minister has described as regrettable the reported death of one ISIAKA MUHAMMAD JAMIU of OGIRI Compound, ALASA, OGBOMOSO, alongside a few injured youths during the #ENDSARS protest in OGBOMOSHO .
While condoling with the mother of ISIAKA, the Minister demanded a full investigation into the incident in order to bring to justice, all those responsible for ISIAKA’S death.
