Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has enjoined citizens of the state and Nigerians in general to pray even more for their leaders in the spirit of the Sallah celebration.
Delivering his Sallah message in his country home, Gudi, Akwanga local government area of the state on Tuesday, the governor said the Sallah celebrations is coming at a critical period where there is security challenges, the Covid-19 pandemic and economic challenges.
In his words: “ I want to use this opportunity to call on all our people to continue to pray y for our leaders, starting with our President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, all our governors, all our leaders on various stages and of course our nation and its people.
“And we pray that the Almighty Allah will continue to protect us, guide us, to bless us and to give us all the wisdom so that we can overcome all the challenges that we face in Nasarawa State and in Nigeria at large.
“Glory be to Allah for giving us the opportunity to witness another Eid-el-Kabir.
The governor also admonished Nigerians to endeavour liv to peacefully despite religious differences as religious tolerance is the only way to foster development.
“When Ibrahim Allah Salam decided to offer his son as sacrifice as a result of instructions and directive of Almighty Allah. And it was because of his obedience that a ram was used to replace.
“So it makes a lot of meaning for us – both in Islam as well as Christianity. Both religions are religions that believe in sacrifice. He advised.
“The Christian religion believes the biggest sacrifice was sacrifice by Christ and in the Muslim religion, we are following the same.
“It is the sacrifice of Prophet Abrahim Allah Salam.
“So on behalf of the people and government of Nasarawa State, I want to wish everyone of us here in Nasarawa State a happy Eid-el-Kabir. I want to call on every one of us to copy from what we are learning from both religions so that we will be able to practice the will of the Almighty Allah.
“So on behalf of my family, on behalf of the people of Nasarawa State, and government of Nasarawa State, I wish everyone of us happy Sallah period and God bless. The governor said.
The event was attended by party faithfuls, religious leaders, politicians members of the Nasarawa state executive as well as well-wishers.
