Caleb Group of Schools have concluded arrangement for the maiden edition of MUSIC FESTIVAL AND AWARD NIGHT.
The Festival will play host to some of the best gospel singers in the country and beyond on Saturday 30th of November at the Sports Arena of the school, ABIJO GRA, LEKKI.
According to the Chairperson, Planning Committee, MRS BUSOLA ADEGBAJU, the event themed ‘JOYFUL TIDINGS’ aims at showcasing the exquisite bouquet of skilful display of musical instruments, rendition and Performances from the school Orchestra; VOICE OF CALEB and other invited Schools.
MRS ADEGBAJU, said the significance of the event underscores the school’s commitment to Christian values, grooming of highly-educated and skilled students and rewarding of excellent Performances and behaviour.
“The festival is an avenue for us to exhibit the musical talents of our students and another platform for us to celebrate and praise God with friends and members of the growing Caleb family in the company of proven stars and models like Tope Alabi, Sinach and others.
“Caleb Group of schools recognizes the deposit of talent in every child and we help to unearth, refine and catapult it to stardom.At the musical festival, new Stars will be born.
“The planning Committee members of experienced and trained school management team have put in all looking forward to this great event excitedly” ADEGBAJU said.
Meanwhile DR SADIKU BASHIR, Principal said the Musical Festival and Award Night was organised to praise God and bring out the hidden musical talent in the students.
According to DR SADIKU, “education is not learning in the class alone but the 21st century education is based on skills, and music is another area where skills are being display adding that in this century.
“everybody would not be bankers, Medical Doctors etc, for some people their own area is vocation that is where music has its role to play.
“Music is a profession on its own, it’s about skills and in the twenty-first century, we deal with more of skills and music is a way of communicating, it is a way of inspiring people and it is also a way of assisting and passing a message to the world. This festival music is another way of praising God .
“In our school we promote both vocation and profession, you can be good in a professional field and that does not take you away from vocational field, if you are good in music we encourage students to take it, at the end of the day, you discover that even the vocational aspects of learning goes a long way.” SADIKU hinted.
CALEB GROUP OF SCHOOLS, a foremost a Christian citadel of learning , founded in 1986, has provided quality education spanning three decades. Amongst several accolades, the school claimed the first position at the Commonwealth Science Class Competition organized by the British Council in 2017.
The music artists expected include, TOPE ALABI, SINACH, BEEJAY SAX, BUKKY BEKES and AYAN JESUS.
