SENATOR GERSHOM BASSEY representing CROSS RIVER SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT at the Senate has lauded PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI led federal government over the issuance of OUTLINE BUSINESS CASE CERTIFICATE (OBC) to the government of CROSS RIVER STATE led by his Excellency SEN. BEN AYADE for the state to go ahead with plans to construct its DEEP SEAPORT.
The certificate issued to the government of Cross River state would enable the state to take the next step towards the implementation of the deep seaport.
The elated lawmaker said it a laudable achievement by the government of Cross River state led by GOVERNOR BEN AYADE, stressing that the federal is also thinking in line with the government of Cross River that is why very quickly it has key into the aspiration of the our government.
“First I must commend the governor of my state for first conceiving that vision.
“I think the Deep seaport is a great project a lauded one and I think that the FG also was thinking in line with Cross River State government because they have very rapidly and very quickly keyed into the aspiration of the government of Cross River state, so I must commend the FG for that act.
“Also, I want to commend the digital governor of my state for having that vision of a Deep Seaport. Once the government is able to achieve that Calabar the effect will be very positive because it will decongest the Lagos port and people from Maiduguri will have options in transporting their goods and service to their state as well as others.
“ One of the factors for growth is trade so with this kind of idea it will boost the competition in the sea businesses and for us to have a deep seaport in Calabar it will be a massive boost for business in the eastern flack of the country.
“So I commend the CRS government and I pray that the project comes to its reality. “
SEN. GERSHOM insisted that the government of Cross River led by AYADE has done well for our state, they need our praise and the support to continue their good work, and prayers to continue to have the drive, the energy and the zeal to keep driving the state to its preferred destination.
Meanwhile, GOVERNOR, BEN AYADE, who came for the OBC at the Federal MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION in Abuja, said the certificate would enable the state to take the next step towards the implementation of the DEEP SEAPORT.
The Federal Government of Nigeria through the MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT on Monday issued a BUSINESS CASE CERTIFICATE to Cross River State for the state to go ahead with plans to construct its DEEP SEAPORT.
