The Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning in AKWA-IBOM State, PROF. VICTOR INOKA has stated the commitment of the State Government in partnering STERLING OIL GLOBAL for job prospects in the oil and gas sector for the citizens.
The Commissioner made the government’s aspiration known during his familiarization tour to the STERLING OIL GLOBAL COMPANY in IKO TOWN, EASTERN OBOLO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, AKWA IBOM STATE.
The Commissioner who is currently on a familiarization tour of relevant establishments and organizations to his ministry was accompanied by a team of the management staff of the ministry, including, the Permanent Secretary, DR. (MRS) VALERIE OBOT, Directors and Heads of Department and was received by the Company’s Security and Community Relations Manager, GROUP CAPTAIN ETETE EKPO, (RTD).
The Labour Boss emphasized that the aim of his visit was to create synergy between the STERLING OIL GLOBAL and government on areas of mutual benefits that would allow for industrial harmony, job creation and training programmes among others.
Speaking further, the Commissioner stressed that in pursuits of his vision for the industrialization of the state, that His Excellency, the Executive Governor, MR. UDOM EMMANUEL has created the Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning with the core mandate for human capacity development for the management of the envisaged industries for sustainability.
PROF. INOKA assured companies in the state that Government is committed to providing the desired supports, safety and peaceful environment to enable them succeed in their investments and programmes.
Responding, the Company’s Security and Community Relations Manager, GROUP CAPTAIN ETETE EKPO (RTD), expressed satisfaction with the Commissioner for breaking the seeming barrier to visit the company in the hinterland. He said Sterling Oil Global was an Oil and gas exploration Company which is rural based and its activities cut across 13 local government areas of the state.
GROUP CAPTAIN EKPO, announced that the company was going to embark on a vast number of projects and programmes in the oil and gas and other related areas that will transform the lives of the people and the host communities. He expressed readiness of Sterling Oil Global to collaborate with the government and ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning in the areas of employment, training and other corporate social responsibilities and sued for government’s supports to the Sterling OIL Global.
In her vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning, DR. (MRS) VALERIE OBOT, lauded the management of STERLING OIL GLOBAL for the warm welcome accorded the team and commended the Commissioner for initiating a series of visits to various organizations that would help to contribute towards achieving the mandate of the ministry.
