Flying Eagles midfielder, Israel Ayuma is set to be invited to the Super Eagles after the NK Istra of Croatia player impressed Eric Chelle at the just concluded AFCON U 20 tournament in Egypt.
Ayuma had a commanding presence in the midfield of the Flying Eagles with head coach of the Super Eagles , Eric Chelle calling him one of the stand- out performers in the team.
Sources revealed that Chelle is favourably disposed to hand Ayuma his first Super Eagles invitation soon judging from his performances at the tournament.
“Flying Eagles players gave their best in this tournament. We are glad that Eric Chelle was also present to watch the team and i can tell you that some players really caught his attention. One of them is Israel Ayuma,” the source who doesn’t want to be named said.
“Ayuma had a very good tournament. Eric Chelle is fully convinced that he has the quality to play in the Super Eagles. His confidence with the ball, passes and ability to shoot are some of the qualities that have endeared him to Chelle.
“It will be definately be a thing of joy to see Ayuma and one or two others to be invited soon to the Super Eagles. Chelle is ready to give them opportunities very soon.
The Flying Eagles of Nigeria won bronze at the tournament after defeating the hosts, Egypt 4-1 on penalties on Sunday evening in Cairo.
