The 2022 edition of the Mark D Ball Basketball Championship dunks off in Abuja on Saturday with glitz and glamour.
Sixteen women’s team converged at the indoor sports complex, Package B of the MKO Abiola National stadium ,Abuja on Saturday to compete for honour and glory.
According to the organisers, it would be a mix of basketball, music and fun as A-list musicians are expected to light up the events.
Addressing the media during a press conference, Director of Media for the Championship , Kingsley Aigbonoga said the likes of Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface ,Joel El, Magnito, Ice Prince, Goya Menor, Rayce and Chuddy- K will add spice to the occasion.
His words: “The Mark D Ball Championship is a complete package as we are mixing sports and entertainment together.
“Beyond the playing basketball, the Organiser are bringing 2 Face,Joel El,Magnito Ice Prince, , Rayce, Goya Menor,Chuddy K and many more and to spice up the championship with their live performances,” Aigbonoga said.
Meanwhile in the opening encounter of Match Day One, Sunshine Angels out dunked Hotcoal Slizzers, 28-20 , it ended.
Teams including Air Warrior, Firstbank, Delta Force, Sunshine Angels, Customs, Novena Queens, Kada Angels, Benue Princess and Plateau Rocks are participating in the championship.
Others are Mountain of Fire, FCT Rocks, IGP Queens, Taraba Hurricanes, Nasarawa Amazons, Hot Coal Sizzlers and Bayelsa Queens.
