The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has unveiled its 2025 By-Laws, describing the new regulatory framework as a major step towards strengthening airport safety, operational efficiency and compliance with international aviation standards.
The authority disclosed this in a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, stating that the revised by-laws represent the first major update to FAAN’s regulatory framework in more than two decades.
According to FAAN, the new by-laws were unveiled by the Chairman of the FAAN Governing Board, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and are designed to provide a modern legal framework that reflects current realities in the aviation industry while supporting more effective airport operations across the country.
FAAN Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, said the revised regulations would serve as a guide for airport operations, strengthen regulatory compliance, improve service delivery and ensure that Nigeria’s airports continue to operate in line with international best practices.
The authority noted that as the aviation sector continues to evolve, regulatory frameworks must also be updated to meet emerging operational and safety challenges.
FAAN added that the 2025 By-Laws form part of its efforts to build smarter, safer and more resilient airports, while enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers and other airport users.
