The Joint investigation Centre (JIC) Giwa Barracks, Maiduguri Borno State responsible for investigation and clearance of arrested Boko Haram suspects on Tuesday revealed it has concluded investigations and recommended for prosecution of 1,440 suspected terrorists.
The 1,440 suspects are part of 1,927 suspects still awaiting arraignment in Court by the Federal ministry Justice .
This was disclosed by the assistant commander of the Joint investigation Centre Giwa, Captain Olugbeyiga Henry Adeniyi when he conducted Defence Correspondents on a tour of Operation HADIN KAI facilities.
He debunked rumours that the Joint Investigation Centre has ten thousand suspects in its custody .
In his words: “That is not true, .he said adding that the Centre has never had up to 3,000 suspects in its custody since it was set up”
The Centre has several facilities including tailoring section, traditional cloth weaving section such caps,, soap making and liquid detergent making semi factory for women suspects.
The Centre also house laundry section, fish pounds, rabbits rearing section and other that have kept the detainees busy with craft that would be useful to them when eventually they are integrated into the larger society.
