...Onwunzulike elected to pilot the club’s activities

To foster plans for 2025/2026 friendly matches and International tours next season , Ositadinma Onwunzulike has been elected the new captain of the London-Nigerian Cricket Club (LNCC) at the Annual General Meeting held in London.
Onwunzulike, a Nigerian International who described his new assignment as a huge one saying he will definitely reciprocate the confidence the voters has invested in him to become the new captain.
Onwunzulike who plies his professional career with Hornchurch Cricket Club in Essex Premier Cricket League hinted www.sunrisetimes.com.ng that the captain position is a new dawn for him as a player and administrator adding that his wealth of experience would come to play.
“This is a huge challenge and the confidence my team mates have invested on me, I will use it as much as possible try and reciprocate their trust and the respect they have for me in making me the captain of the LNCC for in coming season.
“This is a new beginning because I will bring my wealth of experience playing in a semi professional side.Playing for the first and second team in the Essex Premier League is something that one can never downplay and an experience I will bring to the LNCC also”, he said.
Onwunzulike who was endorsed by Prophecy Cricket Bats and Equipment Kits this season stressed the new board of LNCC is taking the bull by the horns and play to their full potentials and to the best of their abilities so as not to play under pressure in the coming season. Pointing out that playing under pressure would not bring out the best in the players.
In his words: “In the game of cricket now, one is expected to play to it potentials and to the best of ability and as a captain I would support my team mate to play to the best of their ability and not play under pressure because playing under pressure will not make one to bring out his best.
“I have learnt playing in such situation, no matter how you play and what you do, no one comes to the field to lose or come to the field and bat without scoring runs, no matter how your team mate play keep encouraging them, they will get better and build confidence”. Onwunzulike stressed.
Other board members elected include; Roland Ilube vice captain, Matthew Condotti Secretary, Demola Tade ,Tour & special projects, Benjamin Anyia ,Treasurer, Mike Gabbay, Ike Odina ,Welfare Secretary while Femi Odewumi was elected as the Social secretary.
The tenure of the board ends in two years.
