The President of the Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation, Seyi Johnson, has congratulated Chief Bukola Olopade on his recent appointment as the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC).
Johnson expressed his belief that Chief Olopade’s extensive experience will be pivotal in transforming Nigerian sports.
In a statement released to the media, Johnson said, “I am delighted to congratulate Chief Bukola Olopade on his appointment as the Director General of the National Sports Commission. His wealth of experience in sports administration, leadership, and his track record of achievements will undoubtedly bring a fresh perspective to the management and development of sports in Nigeria.
“As Ogun State Commissioner For Youth and Sports, he brought a lot of investors into the state and engaged the youths meaningfully. He has been able to manage the Access Marathon for years and own a club in the lower League in Nigeria.
“Chief Bukola Olopade was instrumental to Premium Trust Bank signing a four-year deal with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria”.
Johnson revealed that Olopade was a former President of Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation who took the sports from zero to the top.
The sports administrator also took the opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for making the bold and visionary decision to appoint Olopade, a move he believes will significantly elevate Nigeria’s sports sector.
“I must also commend President Bola Tinubu for this timely and strategic appointment,” Johnson remarked.
“It shows a clear commitment to the future of sports in our country, and I am confident that under Chief Olopade’s leadership, the NSC will reach new heights.”
