Emergency Response Africa (ERA), a healthcare technology company on Tuesday says it had concluded arrangement to hold a brand activation and mobile app launch to fastrack medical emergency care
Folake Owodunni, the Chief Executive Officer of ERA in a statement on said emergencies happened around everyday which often lead to deaths that are preventable.
Owodunni said the event would hold on April 7 in Lagos to Commemorate the World Health Day would herald a new era where everyone can receive fast, safe and reliable emergency medical care in minutes.
She said:” Emergencies happen all around us every day, in fact at least 500 Nigerians lose their lives daily.
“Every year, more than 6 million Africans lose their lives in situations that could have been addressed by effective emergency response.
” In Nigeria, this translates to 1.2 million preventable deaths every year from heart disease, stroke, accidents and injuries, pregnancy-related conditions and much more.
“We often say, ‘God forbid’ but now we can do more whether you are constructing a building, moving goods and services, or working in a hospital, we all feel the effects of poor emergency response.”
Owodunni added that the even would feature a keynote speaker, Shai Jaskoll who is the Regional Director of Development of United Hatzalah of Isreal among others.
“Bringing stakeholders together is the first step to begin tackling the issue and we look forward to hosting this event.
“In an effort to shine a light on the current challenges faced by emergency response in Nigeria and highlight the potential for technology to address this problem, ERA is inviting stakeholders from the public and private sectors to join the conversation.
