Residents of Umuahia in Abia State have continued to lament the high rate of robbery attacks currently experienced in the city, stressing that if nothing is done about it such can degenerate into a total state of insecurity.
A resident of the city who does not want to be named narrated his experience of a robbery incident he witnessed at CALABAR STREET in Umuahia, where robbers entered a convenient store, pointed a gun at the shop owner, and collected all the money before coming out to shoot sporadically in the air, throwing the entire neighborhood into confusion.
He further stated that while this was happening, there was yet another incident in front of NIPOST, Umuahia involving a man who was trailed from the bank and was attacked by a gang of robbers who shot him dead while a lady inside a tricycle popularly called ‘keke’ was hit by a stray bullet in the leg.
