Popular Islamic cleric, SHEIKH TAOFEEQ AKEWUGBAGOLD on Wednesday in Ibadan appealed to the Kidnappers who abducted his twins to release the children abducted since last Saturday at his ABATAKAN Area residence in Ojoo, Ibadan.
The Islamic cleric confirmed that the abductors have contacted the family but no ransom has been demanded as at the time of filing this report.
AKEWUGBAGOLD also confirmed that about four suspects have been arrested, but clarified that those arrested are his workers not the abductors. He however appealed for the release of his children.
In his words: “We have been contacted. They have contacted us. We pray that God touch their minds.
“We don’t want to involve the police. I will not like to speak on the ransom.
“Yes, police arrested some people, but they are my workers. They are not the abductors. “But we did not suspect anybody.
“I am sorry I can’t speak on ransom. I don’t want to speak on that”, the visibly shaken cleric lamented.
The twins of the Islamic cleric; a male and a female were kidnapped at gunpoint at his residence in Ibadan last Saturday.
