The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, from N1,265 to N1,350 per litre, effective Saturday, September 12, 2026.

The latest increase represents an N85 per litre rise and marks the fourth upward adjustment in the refinery’s petrol gantry price since August 21.

The successive increases have raised the refinery’s petrol price by N185 per litre, representing an increase of about 15.9 per cent in 22 days.

The refinery had on August 21 increased its gantry price from N1,165 to N1,185 per litre. Five days later, on August 26, the price was raised to N1,200 before another increase to N1,265 on August 29.

The latest adjustment brings the current gantry price to N1,350 per litre.

The company also increased its coastal delivery price from N1,669,545 to N1,783,530 per metric tonne.

The new prices were contained in a circular issued late Friday by the Group Commercial Operations of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals and addressed to the company’s customers.

The circular stated, “Dear Valued Customer, please find below the revised DPRP PMS gantry and coastal prices, which are effective from 12th September 2026.”

It further stated that the coastal price had been revised from N1,669,545 to N1,783,530 per metric tonne, while the gantry price was increased from N1,265 to N1,350 per litre.

The company added, “You are advised to return all ATCs for repricing, and a new volume contract will be issued for immediate resumption of loading.”

ATCs, or Authority to Collect documents, are used by customers in the loading and supply process.

The latest increase comes amid elevated international crude oil prices and renewed concerns over global oil supply.

Brent crude has recently risen above $104 per barrel, after earlier climbing past $107, amid the prolonged confrontation between the United States and Iran and its impact on crude oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.

Oil flows through the strategic waterway have reportedly fallen sharply, with supply levels dropping significantly from those recorded during the earlier recovery period.

The attacks on tankers and restrictions on shipping have further heightened concerns over global crude supply, keeping international oil benchmarks elevated and putting additional pressure on refined petroleum product prices.

The latest Dangote refinery adjustment is expected to generate renewed concerns among motorists and other petroleum product consumers, particularly as changes in ex-depot and gantry prices often influence downstream petrol prices.

Petroleumprice.ng also confirmed the new gantry price of N1,350 per litre and the revised coastal delivery price of N1,783,530 per metric tonne.

Customers were directed to return existing ATCs for repricing, after which new volume contracts would be issued to facilitate the immediate resumption of loading.

The refinery also advised customers seeking clarification on the new prices to contact the company.

As of the time of filing this report, officials of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery had not responded to messages seeking further details on the latest increase.
