A former Kogi State Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Daniel Oneal Ejigbo, has declared his readiness to represent the people of Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency, pledging to leverage his extensive experience in government and legislative affairs to attract development projects, jobs and opportunities to the area.
Ejigbo, who worked at the National Assembly for over a decade and served twice as Commissioner for Rural Development in Kogi State, said he possesses the requisite knowledge and connections to effectively advance the interests of the constituency at the national level.
Addressing constituents, the aspiring lawmaker stressed the need for equity and inclusiveness in the distribution of political opportunities across the constituency.
According to him, Dekina and Okura districts have each produced representatives three times, while Bassa has had the opportunity twice. He noted that Biraidu District is yet to produce a representative, arguing that the time has come to correct the imbalance.
“This is not about division; it is about fairness and balance. Every part of our constituency deserves a voice and a sense of belonging,” he said.
Ejigbo assured residents that if entrusted with the mandate to represent them, he would deploy his lobbying capacity, development expertise and experience in governance to facilitate projects and programmes that would benefit all communities within the constituency.
He maintained that Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency deserves greater development and renewed representation, while emphasizing that giving Biraidu the opportunity to produce the next representative would promote equity and strengthen unity among the people.
The former commissioner who expressed confidence in his ability to serve effectively, urged constituents to support his aspiration and join him in advancing the development agenda of the constituency.
“Dekina/Bassa deserves better. Biraidu deserves its turn,” Ejigbo declared.
