Priscilla, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has alleged that the fire incident that razed her mother’s Lagos office on Tuesday was a targeted attack, linked to a threat letter the family received weeks earlier during her wedding celebrations in Tanzania.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, Ojo showed damage caused by the incident—charred furniture, smoke-stained walls, and debris littered across the office staircase and hallway.

“This just happened today, the 8th of July 2025, around 7 pm. My office building caught fire,” she wrote.

Expressing relief, she revealed that no lives were lost and thanked the Nigerian Fire Service and her staff for their “swift” efforts in salvaging what remained.

“Thankfully, no lives were lost. The devil tested us today, but God said no. With God on my side, we will bounce back bigger and better,” the actress stated.

But while the cause of the fire was unknown, Priscilla alleged that the blaze may not have been accidental.

Threats And Suspicion

Priscilla, who recently married Tanzanian singer Juma Jux in a lavish multi-event celebration tagged JP2025, alleged in her Instagram Story that the letter constituted a direct threat to her family and was an attempt to sabotage their marriage.

The typed letter, signed by an anonymous group identified only as ‘Aggrieved Group,’ warned the family of an impending attack and claimed they were being monitored.

It vowed to ruin the marriage and ensure that Priscilla would not enjoy her new life.

“You put someone in trouble and you’re out enjoying giving your daughter in marriage, right? O ma laya o (you have the effrontery). You can’t escape in the next three months, as we are out monitoring you. Watch out.

“We shall render your daughter married useless and rubbish, and scatter it. That your daughter will not enjoy her marriage. We are all there on that wedding day. Watch and see—’Aggrieved Group’,” the letter read.

According to Priscilla, the threat went unnoticed until her mother returned from the wedding trip and discovered it post-celebration.

The influencer noted that increased CCTV surveillance has been mounted at both their home and office premises to assist police investigations, adding that those responsible would be identified and brought to justice.

“Sadly, on the 24th of May, this letter was delivered to my mother’s office [the same one that was engulfed in fire yesterday]. Strictly speaking, it was a threat to life and a strategy to ruin JP2025. Fortunately, she was en route to Tanzania for my wedding, which didn’t give her the opportunity to read the threat letter till her return.

“We shall eventually detect the face of the delivery agent and show the public and the police at the right time, even though more CCTV has been mounted both in her office and at home. The unfortunate incident of yesterday, 8th July, 2025, is their Plan B as their plans to ruin JP2025 failed woefully! A close look and reading at the threat letter, it read in parts, ‘that in the next three months, they would be monitoring us’!

“Wondering an office my mother owned for eight years! This is deep, while a lot of questions are begging for answers and investigations. So much has been happening that I can’t even talk about it here, but I just want to put it out here. You can’t silence my mother with all of these threats and criminal acts. God is stronger than any evil, and time will surely tell,” she wrote.

This is not the first time the Ojo family has faced threats in recent months.

In June, Iyabo Ojo had a public spat with Tanzanian blogger Mange Kimambi, who accused Priscilla and Juma Jux of distracting the Tanzanian public during a critical election season with their “stupid content.”

Kimambi warned the couple to lay low and not derail ongoing political activism, adding that their posts were serving government interests.

In response, Iyabo defended her daughter and her in-laws, calling out the blogger for trying to intimidate her family.

“I’m appalled by your audacity! Calling their content stupid and trying to drum up fear and intimidation is unacceptable. Keep my daughter out of your affairs. She doesn’t need you to love her. She is very loved and well-loved. We protect our own,” she wrote.
