Remo Stars of Ikenne on Sunday celebrated a historic maiden NPFL title before home fans with a convincing 4-1 victory over Ikorodu FC .
This also marks a victory for the Ogun state government and indigenes as a whole as the state had never won the NPFL league championship .
Though the defunct Abiola babes of Abeokuta won the old challenge cup once , no team from Ogun state has previously won the national league title
It was therefore a day of celebration for all Ogun state indigenes as the governor of the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun joined the Nigeria Football Federation, president, Ibrahim Gusua, and other dignitaries to present the NPFL league trophy to Remo Stars.
