Leading technology solutions company, Huawei says it has been able to offer solutions to over 3 billion people over the past 30 years, keeping to the highest standards of security.
“We offer secure and trustworthy products/solutions to help customers build cyber resilience,Osita Iweze, Huawei Nigeria Chief Security Officer, said while sharing insights into the company’s security focused approach to technology solutions.
“Over the last 30 years, Huawei has operated in more than 170 countries, serving over 3 billion people globally. Huawei’s equipment has never caused any large-scale network breakdowns. It has never experienced any serious cyber security incidents. We have maintained a solid security track record.
“As a matter of fact, multiple independent, credible, third-party reports indicate the stability/reliability and security engineering practices of Huawei equipment are industry-leading,” he added.
“For instance, in a survey conducted by USA-based CFI Group covering 2016 – 2018, the stability and reliability of Huawei equipment far exceeded the industry average. Similarly, Cigital (acquired by Synopsys) has also been conducting independent BSIMM assessments for Huawei since 2013. We achieved the highest scores (level 3) in 9 security practices across 12 fields.
“Most people are not aware that Huawei is investing US$2 billion in next 5 years to build secure, trustworthy, and high-quality products in its ICT infrastructure business. This is massive.
“And to give users added comfort, Huawei complies with responsible vulnerability disclosures to reduce customers’ cyber security risks. More importantly, people need to be made aware that Huawei does not run networks. It has no access to any of the data in the networks it supports. There is so much misinformation out there by powerful interest who want to stifle Huawei’s growth but that is all it is…deliberate misinformation. Huawei’s commitment to user data protection is unquestionable,” he added.
