The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN FCT Chapter congratulates the newly elected executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ FCT Council led by Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche for victories at the poll.
SWAN celebrates with the new exco and believes that their performance in their first tenure was responsible for the landslide victory recorded at the polls.
The Sports Writers however urged its parent body, NUJ to redouble its efforts by surpassing the expectations of their members.
Meanwhile, while congratulating the newly elected exco, the chairman of SWAN FCT chapter, Bunmi Haruna urged them to take the council to another level.
His words, “We congratulate all the newly elected executive members for their victories at the poll on Saturday. You did very well in your first tenure and your emergence is a testimonial that you will deliver again. We are aware that the exco comprises of men and women who have capacity to take our council to another level,” he noted.
Bunmi continued, “We know Ogbeche and his team as people of integrity and great ideas hence we want them to bring those innovations to play in their new assignment.
“As a body, we will work with them and give them the needed support for them to succeed. Once again congratulations, Bunmi concluded.
It will be recalled that Ogbeche was re-elected as chairman after defeating his closest rival by 250 votes to emerge victorious at the election held in Abuja on Saturday.
