...2025 ITTF Africa West Regional Championships also qualifiers for African Championships, Kigali
Team Nigeria table tennis team has proven once again it’s dominance in African table tennis as the team won the team event in the male and female categories at the ongoing 2025 ITTF Africa West Regional Championships taking place in Lagos.
The men’s team displayed character and and grit to win the final 3-0 against Côte d’Ivoire to reclaim their title.
The women’s team on the other hand led by Ajoke Ojomu, stayed unbeaten—defeating Benin, Ghana, and Guinea to defend their crown in style.
This four-day tournament was more than just medals — it also serves as a qualifier for the African Championships coming up in Kigali, Rwanda later this year.
With talented players like Taiwo Mati, Matthew Kuti, and Abdulbasit Abdulfatai, Nigeria dominated every stage of the competition.
The singles finals will take place Saturday, July 19, with top players from across West Africa still battling it out for individual titles.
