The Chairman of NASARAWA UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB of LAFIA, MR. IBRAHIM ABDULLAHI OSANGA has boasted that his team will put the past behind them and take their place at the ongoing 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL.
He made this known in a phone conversation with sunrisetimes.com.ng/sport after NUFC claimed their first away point in UYO in the five weeks old league season.
It would be recalled that the LAFIA based NPFL Club had recorded a loss to WIKKI TOURISTS of BAUCHI at home in their first game of the 2019/2020 league season, they also drew 1-1 to Plateau United at home while losing two games away before the latest draw against AKWA UNITED in UYO.
MR. OSANGA noted that the boys have realized the need to convert their chances in front of goal.
According to him their number one supporter and Governor of the state His Excellency, GOV. ABDULLAHI SULE wants the team go out and excel.
“I have spoken to the technical crew and the players the need to step up their game, because that is the only way they can benefit from the magnanimity of Gov. Abdullahi Sule.
In the same vain, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, HON. OTHMAN ADAMS has congratulated the team for pulling an away draw in the Week 5 encounter while charging them to do more, stressing that GOVERNOR SULE is ready to support them all the way so they can put smiles on the faces of their fans and the state at large at the end of the season.
“I am sure the boys are rediscovering themselves. The 1-1 draw away to Akwa United is a good omen, and I hope the boys will keep momentum because his Excellency Gov. Sule is ready to support them if only the boys will step up their games, forget the past and return to the wining way as they did in the preseason tournament in Kano,” HON. ADAMS noted.
