The secretary of Sports of Nigeria Customs Service (NSC) ,Samuel Onikeku, on Friday said custom male team is set to retain title as the Defending Championship of the volleyball Premier League.
According to him, Customs teams both male and female team will top the league in this year premier league.
His words: “This year we want to continue to do what we know to do , we want to be the first in the male and female position.
“The players have been training tediously for the past one month morning and night to have a successful record to be ahead of every contestant.
“On Dec. 21st which is the last day of the competition, the normal story of success we use to give at the end of competition is what we will give, “ he said.
He said NCS don’t not take any sport with unserious, adding they are set to jubilate at the end of the league.
“We know how important this league is to us and especially for our male team which will we retain the title.
“The female will also record their success by winning the trophy. We didn’t only have an edge but we are always prepared whenever we have any competition.
“We drop some points in the first phase we have to come together to prepare ourselves for the final phase to lift the trophy in the male and female competition,” he said.
He added that the team has received all the necessary support to make them to give their best.
“The Comptroller general of NCS , Colonel Hameed Ali always gives us the maximum support that we required and to make sure that we don’t lack anything.
“We have no choice than to perform, we do not lack anything for competition either equipment finances , allowances or accommodation we do not lack.
“Everything that have to do with sports we always received accelerated delivery and answers, “he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that NCS male team won the last year edition of the premier league while the female team ended second position
In the last edition male category , NCS finish first position, Kano Pillars took second place while the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps( NSCDC) place third.
In the female team competition, NSCDC won the league to take the first position, NCS took second position while Chief of Army Staffs COAS placed third.
The National Volleyball Premier League Final phase will commence on Sunday and is expected to end Dec.21 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium package B, Abuja.
