Nigerian Premier Football league side, Sunshine Stars FC of Akure has added four new players to the side ahead of the second half of the league season.
The signings, a mixture of youth and experience including Ibrahim Yusuf who joined from Remo Stars FC. Others are former Nigerian International, former Caykur Rizespor , HNK GORICA and Dinamo Batumi centre back, Godfrey Oboabona as well as Davies Alan and Maichibi Favour.
Speaking after signing the dotted lines for the Akure Gunners, Favour Bako Maichibi said he is happy to sign for Sunshine Stars FC and looking forward to contributing his best to the team.
The fleet footed Maichibi, a former Police Machine Academy youth player believes team efforts and dedication can deliver a continental ticket for Sunshine Stars FC at the end of the season.
Maichibi who has had playing experiences in Turkey with Yeni Malatyaspor and Denizlispor Under 19 teams said he wants to see the glory days back in Sunshine Stars football club.
Alan Utibe Davies on the other hand said he is excited to show what he can do for Sunshine Stars and on the international stage should the chance come soon.
Davies a former MFM and Hanik Sport Youth Team Player known for his outrageous dribbling ability and eye for creating goal scoring opportunities believes that with the Akure Gunners he can take his career to another level.
Speaking about his years in amateur and youth football before turning professional, Davies said discipline, love and passion for the game have helped him become a better person.
“I never miss a training session, I’m an early bird. I love putting in that work because I see the results in games…before I turned pro I went through it all and I’m glad of what I’ve achieved so far”, Davies said.
Sunshine Stars finished third in the first half of the Group B log with 15 points winning 4 of her games and drawing three.
The Coach Edith Agoye led side will be looking to build on their first half campaign with the latest additions.
