Ikorodu City FC made it two wins in as many home games on a Match day 8 encounter in the Nigerian Premier Football League game against Lobi stars of Makurdi at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos on Monday.
The six goal thriller saw Salau Yusuf opened scoring for the hosts just two minutes after kickoff as Ikorodu City drew first blood. The lead was doubled nineteen minute later via a wonderful strike from Emmanuel Solomon.
Ifeanyi Assurance put two pass Ikorodu City’s goal keeper in the 45+5’ and 45+6 to level the game at halftime for the Daniel Amokachie tutored lads.
The home however sealed victory with double strikes from star performer Emmanuel Solomon and Rivio Ayemwenre in the 56’ and 58’ minutes respectively. The game ended 4-2 in favour of Ikorodu FC.
The win takes Ikorudu City Fc two points above the relegation zone.
In other Venues, Rivers United of Port-Harcourt climbed to the top of the League with a 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes of minna, a game that many felt did not to live up to expectations.
Meanwhile, Defending Champion Enugu Rangers failed to pick any point as they settled for a 0-0 goalless draw against Akwa United.
In other venue Shooting Stars ran away with a 1-0 win against Katsina United as they look to slowly crawl from the relegation zone having just one win in their last 3 matches.
