The national under 18 and 20 men handball teams will travel to Accra , Ghana on Monday ahead of the IHF Trophy Africa Zone 3 Phase which will commence on Tuesday.
The IHF Trophy Africa Zone 3 Phase will hold from February 20th to the 24th 2024 at the Borteyman Multipurpose Sports Hall, Accra Ghana
The national teams have been undergoing intensive preparations under the tutelage of their Coaches Emeka Nnamani (under 18 coach) and Fidelis Obi (under 20) respectively at the Rowe Park Sports Center in Yaba, Lagos.
The two coaches have released their final list of of 14 players each that will represent the country in the Youth and the Junior categories of the competition with several of the invited making the list while four players were dropped.
Nigeria’s under 18 and under 20 men’s team will be playing in a round robin competition with the under 18 team playing in the Youth category alongside Benin Republic, host Ghana and Togo while the under 20 team face the likes of Benin Republic, Cote’d’voire, Ghana, Liberia and Togo in the Junior category.
The Nigeria teams will begin their campaign on Tuesday as the under 18 team face Benin Republic at 2pm Nigeria time while the under 20 team play Liberia at 8pm.
