… Reaffirms Commitment to Grassroots Development
The Chairman,Edo Football Association Mr Fred Newton Erhunmeunsee on Friday, December 15,2023 constituted and inaugurated five standing committees to help the new board drive the process of football development in Edo state.
The Fred Erhunmwunsee’s new FA board which came onboard after a keenly contested EFA election on November 17 on the second of December constitutional and inaugurated Security committee headed by Captain Stephen Amadin, making it six standing committees in the Edo FA.
The committees include the Organizing and Disciplinary Committee ;Marketing and Branding Committee;Media, Publicity and ICT Committee; the Technical and Referee Committee, and the Youths Football Development Committee.
The Organising and Disciplinary Committee has Mr Kindness Ohiwere as
Chairman; Marketing and Branding Committee with Mr Paul ojiesoba as Chairman while Mr Kennedy Ugbodaga heads the Media, Publicity and ICT Committee.
Others include Youths Development Committee which has Mr Faith Ojeaga as Chairman while Technical and Referee Committee also has Mr kindness Ohiwere as its Chairman.
The Vice Chairmen of the five committees include Coach Osayomore Aghaowa –
Technical committee; Sylvester Okungbowa –
Referee Committee; Mr Kingsley Ogbedie-Ihama -Youth Football Development and Mr Patrick Owolabi -Organising and Disciplinary Committee respectively.
Inaugurating the committees in the Board Room at the Edo state Sports Commission, the FA boss charged the committee members to bring their knowledge and experience in football business to bare as the new FA board is in a hurry to deliver on their electioneering promise to steer Edo Football to an enviable height.
Erhunmwunse who reaffirmed his commitment to the overall development of football game in Edo state with emphasis on the grassroots, in his address, expressed confidence in the men selected for the various committees, insisting that their appointment was based on their track records and wealth of experience in Football Administration.
” We have confidence in you and believe in your ability to brilliantly contribute to workable policies and programme that will bring about desired change and also help redefine football administration in the State.
“We have put our hands on the plough and will not look back. Edo people expect much from us and we can’t afford to disappoint them. Edo is football native land full of raw talents and we must do all that is needed to encourage participation and overall development of the game in our state.” He emphasized.
Speaking on behalf of the Committees, the Chairman of the Organizing and Disciplinary Committee Mr kindness Ohiowele promised that they will work assiduously with the chairman to ensure that set the set goal of the new FA board is achieved.
He thanked the FA chairman for giving them the opportunity to serve in their Various capacities.
“We are all stakeholders and we are all working towards one purpose which is developing football. I assure you that we shall hit the ground running as we ready to move Edo state Football forward.” He declared.
