The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the final list of 18 presidential candidates and their running mates for the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
The list, titled “Presidential and National Assembly Elections for Jan, 2027 – Presidential Final List of Candidates,” was signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony.
The final list features incumbent President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, among other candidates.
Tinubu, 74, will contest the election with Vice-President Kashim Shettima, 59, as his running mate, while Atiku, 79, will fly the flag of the ADC alongside former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, 61.
Obi, 65, is paired with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, 69, while Labour Party candidate Sunday Chibuzo Okereke, 43, will contest with Hajja Bintu Konto, 54.
The Peoples Democratic Party is fielding Sandy Ojang Onor, 60, with Umaru Babangida, 61, as his running mate.
Other candidates on the final list include Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje of the Action Alliance, with Shehu Hussaini; Aliyu Abbas-Bin of the Action Democratic Party, with Chinazam Ike; and Kabiru Yusuf of the Allied Peoples Party, with Peace Egobia Ofordile.
The African Action Congress is represented by Omoyele Sowore, with Haruna Garba Magashi as his running mate, while the Allied Peoples Movement is fielding Oyo State Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, with Musa Lawal Daura.
The Boot Party candidate is Sunday Adenuga, with Usman Turaki Mustapha as his running mate.
The Democratic Leadership Alliance is represented by Moses Olusoji Adebisi, with Nafisat Usaku Abubakar, while the National Democratic Party is fielding Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori, with Uchenna Anthony Chukwuemeka.
The National Rescue Movement candidate is Nkem Esther Okereke, who is paired with Nasir Muhammed Sulaiman.
Former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, with Kabiru Rabiu as his running mate.
The Social Democratic Party is fielding Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo, with Usman Muhammed Bugaje, while the Young Progressives Party is represented by Peter Ada Agada, with Patience Ndidi Key.
Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu is the presidential candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, with Hassan Khalid as his running mate.

According to the final list, there are two female presidential candidates — Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori of the NDP and Nkem Esther Okereke of the NRM — while four women are listed among the vice-presidential candidates.
The candidates’ ages range from 35 to 80, while their declared qualifications include First School Leaving Certificate, WAEC, NABTEB certificates and university degrees, including doctorate qualifications.
The publication of the final list formally establishes the field for the presidential contest, with the 18 candidates now cleared to participate in the January 16, 2027 election.
The governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for February 6, 2027.
